Hi. I'm Maria.
My friends call me Murris.
Or grandma. Because I sometimes act like one.

I’m a self-portrait photographer and educator based in Norway.

I bought my first camera more than 14 years ago, just out of curiosity. What started as a simple love for photography soon became an amazing creative outlet and a gateway to freedom.Through self-portraits, I learned to see myself differently, not just as a subject in front of the camera, but as the creator behind it.

It opened doors I never imagined.

Collaborations with brands and hotels, creative projects around the world, and the chance to build a life where art and travel constantly intertwine.

But more than anything, it taught me that anyone can do this. You don’t need a studio, a team, or the “perfect” setup. You can be your own muse. And when you start seeing yourself that way, everything changes.

A life of art and freedom

Today, my life is a blend of photography, creativity, and exploration — working with inspiring brands, teaching others to create freely, and chasing light wherever I go.

It’s the life I once dreamed about, built one self-portrait at a time. And now, I hope to inspire you to do the same.
